1.     What is Prestar?

It's a test service where we provide you with a pre-loaded card to pay for your groceries or other essentials now, and you pay us back the borrowed amount later.

2.     Why are you offering this program for free?

At Prestar, we recognize the challenges many face in balancing their financial needs, especially when it comes to essential groceries. Our founder grew up in a single mother home in a low-income neighbourhood and understands firsthand the strain of making ends meet. The Prestar initiative was established not only to assist those who need a little more time to pay for their groceries and essentials, but also as an alternative to costly payday loans.

3.     How does Prestar work?

Once approved, you'll receive an electronic credit via email, which you can utilize to purchase groceries and other necessities at a participating store in your area. Simply use this credit at checkout as you would use cash. Repayment is straightforward: simply reimburse us for the borrowed amount through a bank e-transfer by the specified due date. We will send reminders as the repayment date approaches.

4.     Do I have to pay extra money to use Prestar?

No, Prestar is currently free. As part of the test service, we are not charging any interest or fees. That means you only pay us back exactly what you borrowed from us. Please note that depending on your bank, your bank may charge you e-transfer fees for transferring the money to us.

5.     How can I get a Prestar Card?

Just click on the “Join Now” button on our website and fill out the form. We’ll be in touch shortly after. It’s super easy!

6.     Can everyone use this service?

Almost anyone can. We have a quick form to fill out first to confirm if you qualify. This helps us see if our program is a good fit for you.

7.     When do I have to pay back the amount borrowed?

We will provide you with a specific repayment date (approximately two to four weeks from borrow date) based on the information you provide to us about your payroll (when you get paid). Don’t worry, we’ll remind you by email when the due date is close.

8.     Is my information safe?

We keep your information secure and we will not share or sell your information to others. We will only use your information to provide you with our service, improve our service offerings, and to let you know about new offers or services that we may have.

9.     What if I can’t pay on time?

If you have problems paying back on time, please email us as soon as possible so we can work out a plan for you.  

10.  Can I buy anything with the Prestar Card?

Currently, the Prestar Card offers a credit that can be utilized at a grocery store of your choice within your locality. In addition to groceries, we include essential services such as transportation and healthcare, ensuring you have broader access to the necessities you need.

11.  How much can I buy with the Prestar Grocery card?

Once you fill out our application form, we’ll tell you how much you can borrow.
